CGLA HQs holds Annual General Body Meeting in Doon

Dehradun, 22 Jun: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Central Government Library Association (CGLA) Headquarters was successfully held today at Hotel Sunder Palace in Majra, with enthusiastic participation both offline and online by the members. The event was attended by several life members and dignitaries from the library and information science fraternity across the country.

The meeting commenced with a formal welcome address by the outgoing General Secretary, DK Pandey, who presented an overview of those key initiatives and activities undertaken by the Association over the past year. He emphasised efforts in professional development, regional engagement, and strategic partnerships that have enhanced the visibility and voice of library professionals on the national platform. Rajan Gupta, Treasurer, CGLA, presented the expenditure report for last financial year. The house appreciated the clarity and transparency in financial management. Outgoing President Ramesh Goyal addressed the members, expressing appreciation for their ongoing support and cooperation. He extended his best wishes to the new team and assured full support in the transition and future activities.

Election of the new Executive Committee as per the Association’s constitution, elections for new office bearers and the executive committee were conducted during the session. JB Goyal, Election Officer announced the newly elected/nominated office bearers as follows – President: Dr AK Suman; Vice President I: Dr (Prof) SN Pandey; Vice President II: VK Saxena; General Secretary: Manish Sharma; Joint Secretary – I: Sunita Aggarwal; Joint Secretary – II: Ram Raj; Treasurer: RK Sood; Liaison Officer: Jagrit Goyal; Librarian: JB Goyal; Legal Officer: Amitabh Saran; Executive Committee Members: Ram Niwas, Om Prakash, SS Bhandari, Rajan Gupta, Manohar Pathak, and CK Mamik.

Dr AK Suman, the newly elected President, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and the team. He assured the members of committed leadership focused on innovation, digital growth, and professional development. Manish Sharma newly appointed General Secretary expressed thanks to the members of the executive body members and other members. He acknowledged the contributions of all office bearers, past and present, and emphasised the importance of collective effort in advancing the mission of CGLA. The session ended with a fellowship lunch, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Association under renewed leadership and shared vision.
