DM Savin Bansal to be awarded ‘Lokratna Himalaya Samman’

Mussoorie, 2 Jul: ‘Parvatiya Bugul Social Cultural Organisation’ President Pradeep Bhandari stated at a press conference held here, today, that ever since Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal took charge, he has remained active day and night to improve the functioning of health centres, started a campaign to free 132 children from begging and sent them to school to give them a new life, began the free ‘Sarathi’ vehicle service for the elderly and disabled, got many land owners who were suffering for decades their rights, had a widow’s house returned to her, freeing it from the bondage of a bank in 3 days, solved the problem of unexpected waterlogging in ISBT, worked for the rights of the state formation agitators by giving them respect, listened to an old woman or a common citizen first with greetings, etc. Dozens of such extraordinary decisions and excellent works of his are visible to the public today.

It is for this he will be honoured with the ‘Lokratna Himalaya Samman’ by the organisation. He stated that this award will be given by Parvatiya Bugul Samajik Sanskritik Sansthan on its 29th Foundation Day on 7 July. He said that the organisation has honoured many personalities for public service, culture and social service like famous novelist Ruskin Bond, folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, Jagar Samrat Pritam Bharatwan, litterateur Haridatt Bhatt Shailesh, and others. He said that the purpose of the award is to appreciate the remarkable work done by such persons in public interest and to inspire others as well. The decision to honour the DM is an acknowledgement of his dedication and devotion to duty.

On this occasion, the organisation’s general secretary, Mohsin Ahmed, folk singer Meena Arya and Kamlesh Bhandari were also present.
