Rishikesh, 21 Jul: A 27-year-old woman has filed a complaint in the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rishikesh, accusing her neighbours of harassment, molestation, and physical assault.

She stated that when she first approached the Rishikesh police, they asked her to get medical treatment before taking action. Despite later submitting written complaints to both the local police station and the SSP, Dehradun, no FIR has been registered so far.

According to the woman, she and her husband were being harassed for a long time by Rajesh Bhatt and Gautam Bhatt, who lived nearby. She said they used to pass vulgar comments, make obscene gestures and tried to force her into a physical relationship.

Despite several complaints to their family and even warnings from her husband, the behaviour continued. The couple was so troubled that they left the area and started living in Khadri Shyampur.

On 20 April 2025, she and her husband visited their old home in Mayakund to attend a wedding. Around 4:30 p.m., when Meena went out to buy groceries, Rajesh and Gautam allegedly stopped her, misbehaved with her, and touched her inappropriately.

She managed to escape and informed her husband. When her husband went to speak with their father, Ghanshyam Bhatt, he was verbally abused and beaten. Ghanshyam also attacked him with an iron rod, injuring his leg badly.

Later that night, around 10:10 p.m., an e-rickshaw belonging to her husband was allegedly looted near the old Tehri Bus Stand by the same men and some unknown persons. The act was caught on CCTV, but the vehicle is still missing.
