Dehradun, 25 Jul: Ahead of the panchayat elections scheduled for 28 July in the Raipur, Doiwala and Sahaspur development blocks of Dehradun, the district administration has announced changes to the names and locations of several polling stations. These modifications have been prompted by recent school name revisions, inclement weather conditions and other logistical considerations and have been reportedly undertaken in the public interest following recommendations from local public representatives and Block Development Officers.
In Doiwala block, within Gram Panchayat Khadri Kharak Maaf, Booth Numbers 158 to 163, earlier located in rooms 1 to 6 of 71-Nalanda Shikshan Sansthan, have now been relocated to 71-Paras Public School, Shyampur. These booths will henceforth be housed in rooms 2 to 7 at the new venue.
In Raipur block, polling arrangements in Gram Panchayat Dhanola have also been updated. Booth Numbers 44 and 45, previously at 34-Panchayat Bhawan Dhanola, have been shifted to 34-Milan Kendra Brandawali. Likewise, in Gram Panchayat Phulet, polling will now take place at 45-Panchayat Bhawan Phulet instead of 45-Govt Primary School Phulet. In Gram Panchayat Sherki, 26-Gram Sangathan Bhawan Jol Sherki replaces 26-Panchayat Bhawan Sherki as the designated polling location. Additionally, in Gram Panchayat Talai, the station at the primary school in Upper Talai has been changed to Panchayat Bhawan Talai.
In Sahaspur block, 2 Primary School in Kyarkuli has been removed as the designated polling station due to its demolition for reconstruction, and voting will now be held at 2-Panchayat Bhawan Kyarkuli. Furthermore, in Gram Panchayat Bhuddi, a school name change has resulted in the relocation of polling station 92-Kanya Pathshala Bhuddi, which housed Booth Numbers 198 to 201, to 92-Govt Primary School in Bhuddi. The booths will now operate from the updated locations.
