Financial Inclusion Campaign underway in Gram Panchayats of Doon

Dehradun, 13 Aug: As per the directives of the Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Finance, a three-month Financial Inclusion Campaign is being conducted in all Gram Panchayats across the country from 1 July to 30 September. In line with these directives, financial inclusion camps are also being organised by banks in all 401 Gram Panchayats of Dehradun district.

The objective of these camps is to connect more people with various government social security schemes, conduct Re-KYC of bank accounts, open new Jan Dhan accounts, and provide account nomination facilities. Senior officials from various banks as well as senior officers from the Reserve Bank of India are actively participating in these programs.

Recently, a camp was organised by Bank of India in Raipur Block and by Uttarakhand Gramin Bank at Dudhli village in Doiwala Block. On these occasions, BS Nabiyal, Deputy Zonal Head, Bank of India; KAK Sharma, Regional Manager, Uttarakhand Gramin Bank; Sanjay Bhatia, Lead District Manager; officials from Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and Gramin Bank; along with Shailendra Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, and Bharat Anand, Manager, Reserve Bank of India, informed the villagers in detail about the benefits and procedures of these schemes.

So far, such camps have been successfully organised in 65 Gram Panchayats of the district, and the remaining ones will be covered as per the scheduled dates.
