Dehradun, 16 Sep: The BJP has expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by the recent natural disaster in Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand. State Party President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt today asserted that, in this hour of crisis, both the government and the organisation stand firmly with the affected families. He added that it was heartening to see Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, even on his birthday, visiting ground zero to accelerate relief efforts, which boosted the morale of victims, rescue agencies, and all concerned.
Responding to media queries, Bhatt said that after the devastation in the hills, the plains including Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Nainital have also suffered immense damage due to heavy rainfall. He described the loss of several invaluable lives in this natural calamity as extremely tragic and unfortunate, emphasising that no one can fill this void. However, he assured that every possible assistance would be extended to the bereaved families through the government and the organisation.
Bhatt claimed that CM Dhami is making every effort to reach each affected person and alleviate their hardships. He was at the disaster-hit areas early in the morning, personally monitoring rescue and relief operations on the ground. Under his leadership, the police administration, NDRF, SDRF, forest department, and all agencies engaged in rescue work are functioning with full capacity and seriousness. Bhatt expressed confidence that with public cooperation, the government will succeed in providing relief to every affected individual and help them overcome this unbearable suffering.
He further claimed that the party workers across affected areas are making every effort, directly and indirectly, to extend maximum assistance to the victims. He once again urged all public representatives, office-bearers, and workers to put in their complete strength and commitment towards relief and rescue operations. He made it clear that it must be ensured that no person remains distressed due to the disaster. Whatever kind of assistance is required, be it food, water, shelter, healthcare, or any other essential support, should immediately be provided either through the government agencies concerned or by the party workers themselves.
