DEHRADUN, 27 Sept: Rajpur police have arrested three men who fired at a person over a money dispute. The accused are Asif Qureshi, Shubham Sati, and Shahrukh Hussain. Police also recovered a pistol, one live cartridge, and a Verna car from them.
The case was reported on 24th (Wednesday) when complainant Aman Chaudhary told police that some unknown men in a car fired at him near Vatika Society, Mussoorie Road. He escaped safely. A case was registered immediately.
Police checked about 250 CCTV cameras in different areas and also got information from an informer. Based on this, the accused were caught on Friday near Old Mussoorie Road.
During questioning, it was found that Asif Qureshi had given Rs 15.35 lakh to Aman Chaudhary about a year ago. When Aman did not return the money, Asif became angry. He claimed that due to the delay in money, his sister’s marriage was cancelled. To take revenge, he and his associates planned the attack.
On the night of the incident, the accused stopped Aman’s car. Shubham Sati fired at him, but the shot missed, and Aman managed to escape. Police are now searching for another accused, Mohammad Sohel, who is still absconding.
