Dehradun, 30 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence here today. During the meeting, he directed the officials concerned to expedite construction and development activities across Uttarakhand in the wake of the monsoon’s withdrawal from the state. Stressing the urgency of resuming ground-level operations, Dhami instructed all the departments to accelerate pending works without delay.
While reviewing the performance of the Public Works Department (PWD), the CM issued firm instructions to the officials to ensure that all roads are rendered pothole-free within the prescribed timeframe. He made it clear that any form of negligence in road construction or repair would be unacceptable. Emphasising the importance of timely restoration, Dhami stated that the reconstruction and repair of damaged roads must be treated as a top priority. He called for increased vigilance in areas that have witnessed repeated complaints regarding road conditions and also emphasised on the need for a strict adherence to quality standards in all such works.
Dhami further directed the high-ranking officials to undertake weekly reviews of the pothole-free road campaign and ensure that all patchwork is completed by 31 October.
Among those present at the meeting included Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Pankaj Pandey, and Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General, Police (ADG), AP Anshuman, Special Secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari.
