Dehradun, 30 Oct: The Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand, organised a General Provident Fund (GPF) Adalat today at Audit Bhawan, Kaulagarh, to promote public welfare, transparency, and prompt redressal of GPF-related grievances. The office maintains GPF records for approximately 45,000 subscribers across the state and the Adalat was organised to address subscribers’ concerns directly.
The Adalat was inaugurated by Mohd Parwez Alam, Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand. In his address, he highlighted that the initiative provides a single platform for the AG Office, employees, and the administration to jointly resolve issues related to the General Provident Fund. He emphasised that the GPF is not merely a financial instrument but a symbol of trust and security for government employees, and that the Adalat reflects a proactive step toward ensuring empathy, accuracy, and efficiency in resolving matters concerning employees’ hard-earned savings.
Around 300 Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), 200 subscribers, and officers from the Finance Department, Directorate of Treasuries, Dehradun Treasury, and Cyber Treasury participated in the event. For effective grievance redressal, multiple help desks were established, where most issues were resolved on the spot and necessary action was initiated in the remaining cases.
Certificates of resolution were handed over on the spot by Mohd Parwez Alam, Accountant General (A&E), and Lokesh Datal, Senior Deputy Accountant General, to the subscribers — reflecting the office’s commitment to speedy and effective resolution of grievances.
The Accountant General appreciated the efforts of all officers and staff involved in organising the event and expressed confidence that such initiatives would further strengthen trust, efficiency, and transparency in the system.
