Project Nanda-Sunanda ensures continued education for 32 girls in Dehradun

Dehradun, 14 Nov: The 10th edition of Project Nanda-Sunanda was held at the District Office premises in Dehradun, where Rajpur MLA Khajan Das and District Magistrate Savin Bansal distributed cheques worth Rs 13 lakhs to 32 underprivileged, orphaned, and destitute girls, to support their graduation, post-graduation, and skill education. So far, under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the project has revived the education of 90 such girls with financial assistance totalling Rs 32 lakhs.

MLA Khajan Das lauded the district administration’s innovative initiative, calling it a transformative step in public interest. He praised the DM’s dedicated efforts and encouraged the beneficiaries to pursue their dreams with confidence. He also urged parents not to let their daughters’ interest in education wane.

DM Savin Bansal noted that the true Nanda-Sunandas of present era are these resilient girls. He emphasised that determination and hard work always attract support along the way. He appealed to parents to continue motivating their daughters and contribute to building an empowered society. The event was attended by SDMs Kumkum Joshi and Apoorva Singh, District Programme Officer Jitendra Kumar, District Probation Officer Meena Bisht, and the beneficiaries with their guardians.
