Dehradun, 14 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued strict instructions for the prompt and effective resolution of land-related disputes across the state. The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and Director General of Police Deepam Seth to launch a comprehensive and intensive campaign in all districts to address pending land disputes, ensuring that all contested cases are resolved within a one-month timeframe.
The Chief Minister emphasised that, by the end of this campaign, pending land disputes should be reduced to zero.
The Chief Minister stated that land disputes directly impact the common people and can adversely affect law and order as well as social harmony. Therefore, the government’s priority is to ensure their speedy, transparent, and fair resolution. Officials have been instructed to give special attention to sensitive cases during the campaign, and any negligence will not be tolerated.
As per the Chief Minister’s directions, the progress of this campaign will be reviewed weekly by the Chief Secretary to ensure that the targets are met within the stipulated timeframe. Based on these reviews, corrective measures will be implemented as necessary.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed that, if required, committees be formed at the Tehsil level under the chairmanship of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). These committees will include the concerned Circle Officer (CO), police officers, and officials from the Land Records (Chakbandi) Department as members to ensure effective resolution through administrative, revenue, and police coordination.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence that this special campaign will not only lead to the swift resolution of land disputes but will also provide relief to the general public and further strengthen public trust in governance and administration.
