Mussoorie, 5 Feb: The long-standing parking problem and disorganised vendor system in the tourist town of Mussoorie are soon to receive a permanent solution. Regarding this, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi held an important meeting at his official residence on Thursday. A detailed discussion was held in the meeting regarding strengthening Mussoorie’s parking system and the construction of vendor zones. The Cabinet Minister gave clear instructions to the officials to complete all the paperwork related to parking and vendor zones on a priority basis so that the plans can be implemented on the ground.
Joshi said that modern parking facilities and well-organised vendor zones will be constructed in Mussoorie with the cooperation of the municipality and private players. This will not only provide a designated space for local traders but will also provide relief to tourists from traffic jams and congestion. He said that this work is extremely necessary considering the increasing pressure during the tourist season.
Along with this, Minister Joshi also emphasised the renovation of major roads in Mussoorie. He said that the poor condition of the roads affects traffic, causing inconvenience to tourists. Improving the roads will not only improve the traffic system but will also promote tourism. The Cabinet Minister instructed the officials to expedite all development works and complete the projects in a time-bound manner. He reiterated that the state government is fully committed to the systematic and sustainable development of Mussoorie and all works related to public interest will be completed on a priority basis. The meeting was attended by Municipal Chairperson Meera Saklani, SDM, Mussoorie, Rahul Anand, Municipal Executive Officer Gaurav Bhasin, along with senior officials of the district administration and the municipality.
