‘A Silent Escape’ wins 2 Awards at Punjab International Film Festival, Dubai

Dubai, 26 Dec: The captivating short film, “A Silent Escape”, has clinched two prestigious awards at the Punjab International Film Festival held in Dubai. The film, directed and produced by Yogi Devgan, garnered accolades for “Best Film”. The title of “Best Actress” was bestowed upon the talented lead, Sardarnipreet.

Sardarnipreet, who plays a pivotal role in the film, has not only captivated audiences with her exceptional performance in “A Silent Escape” but has also been recognised with the festival’s coveted “Best Actress” award. Her portrayal of the character has left an indelible mark, showcasing her versatility and depth as an actress.

The occasion was marked by the presence of the film’s director and producer, Yogi Devgan, who accepted the accolades alongside Sardarnipreet. Their collaboration has proven to be a winning formula, resonating with audiences and critics alike.

Sardarnipreet, a prominent figure in the Punjabi entertainment industry, is widely known for her role as the main lead in the popular TV series “Geet Dholi”, broadcast on Zee Punjabi. Her dual success in, both, television and film exemplifies her prowess as a multifaceted performer, and “A Silent Escape” stands as a testament to her remarkable talent.

Moreover, “A Silent Escape” has been selected as one of the top 100 films for the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award, scheduled to take place in 2024. This prestigious recognition further cements the film’s position as a cinematic gem deserving of global acclaim. The film also has been nominated for best film and best director award in Bollywood International film festival. So far, it has fetched 12 awards in total which include best film, best actress, best director and best screenplay.

Looking ahead, Yogi Devgan has ambitious plans for “A Silent Escape”. The director envisions expanding the short film into a full-length feature, promising audiences an extended and immersive experience with the compelling storyline and outstanding performances.
