DEHRADUN, 28 Jun: The Association of Community phthalmologists of India, (ACOIN) organised its First Annual Meeting of the Uttarakhand Chapter at a local hotel, today
Dr Gaurav Luthra, the Organising Chairman and Director Drishti Eye Institute, disclosed that ACOIN is a forum for individuals, Eye Doctors and Organisations working in the field of Community Ophthalmology with the mission to promote Comprehensive and Quality eye care at the primary level through participation of eye care agencies and communities in India.
ACOIN focuses on Community Ophthalmology by advocating and promoting Eye Health and prevention of Blindness through various public programmes such as Community Eye screening camps and free surgeries for sight threatening diseases like Glaucoma and Cataract.
Dr AK Singh, Chairman, Max Hospital, Dehradun, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The conference turned out to be a success with almost 100 Eye Surgeons attending the meeting at which lectures by highly experienced Speakers with vast experience in Community Ophthalmology delivered lectures.
Several Senior Eye Surgeons from Uttarakhand were honored with the Distinguished Service Community Ophthalmology Award. Among them were Dr RN Singh, Dr BK Oli, Dr RP Garg, Dr Sunil Chaturvedi, Dr Nitin Mehrotra, Dr Narendra Khanna, Dr Rajan Rana and Dr B C Ramola.
Prestigious orations and endowments were delivered by speakers of national repute such as Dr MC Luthra, ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 delivered by Dr Subhash Dadeya, the late Dr P C Mittal Memorial ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 delivered by Dr Sumit Grover, the late Dr Prahlad Kumar Memorial ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 delivered by Dr Saurabh Choudhry, the late Vijay Singh Titiyal Memorial ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 delivered by Dr Mehul Shah, Dr Satanshu Mathur Endowment ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 by Dr Saurabh Kumar Luthra, Dr RJK Singh Endowment ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 by Dr Souvik Sama Mal and Dr Deba Prasad Kar Endowment ACOIN Uttarakhand State Chapter Oration 2019 by Dr Ravi Kumar
