Dehradun, 6 Jun: A&M Productions and Anurag Verma commenced a 10-day-long Acting & Film Making workshop within the premises of Olympus High School, here, today.
More than 100 students and teachers of Olympus High School participated in the workshop. The aim behind organising this workshop is to make students learn the basics of film making and acting. The students will also be given an opportunity to work in 3 short films and make their own 30-second ad films.
On the first day of the workshop, the students were introduced to acting exercises, basic movement and speech exercises. The students were also informed about the basics and essential aspects of acting as per the Natya Shastra.
Speaking on the occasion, the Founder, A&M Productions, Kunal Shamshere Malla emphasised, “This 10-day-long workshop will give wide experience to the aspiring students in the fields of direction, acting, teaching, design and play writing.”
About Anurag Verma, Kunal said, “Anurag is a Doon-based theater artist. He is an associate producer and director in nationally and internationally acclaimed documentaries and films. He has directed more than 20 stage and street plays and has acted in more than 30 short and full length plays. I’m very excited to conduct this workshop alongside him.”
During the workshop, Anurag Verma emphasised how the students would get to learn different stages of film making, improvisation and teamwork. He said, “At the end of each day of the workshop, the students will also be given homework on what they have learned in a day. Thus, participants will be required to do corrections of their Ad films as well as to learn and work on their respective characters and decided responsibilities.”
The Acting & Film Making workshop is scheduled to conclude on 15 June.
