Agriculture Minister Joshi visits apple orchards in Ganchwan Village of Mori Block

Uttarkashi/Mori, 1 Jun: On the second day of his three-day tour of Uttarkashi district, State Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi visited the remote village of Ganchwan in Mori block. During the visit, he held direct interactions with local farmers and conducted an on-site inspection of apple orchards in the area.

The Minister appreciated the advanced horticultural techniques being adopted by the farmers and stated that the hilly regions of Uttarakhand have immense potential for apple cultivation. He assured the farmers that the state government is fully committed to providing all possible support to promote horticulture in these areas.

While interacting with the villagers, Minister Joshi listened attentively to their concerns related to agriculture and horticulture and expressed readiness to address them promptly. He remarked that apple cultivation by farmers in remote regions like Uttarkashi is a positive indicator for the state’s agricultural future.

He further emphasised that the government is working seriously to make hill agriculture more profitable through focused efforts on horticulture, organic farming, and value addition. He added that basic agricultural infrastructure in Mori region, including Ganchwan, would soon be strengthened.

Local MLA Durgeshwar Lal, District BJP President Nagendra Singh Chauhan, Mission Director, Horticulture, Mahendra Pal, and several farmers were also present during the visit.
