Dehradun, 19 Dec: All the Madrasas being run in Uttarakhand by the Waqf Board will be modernised and named after former President APJ Abdul Kalam. This was shared with Garhwal Post by Chairman of the Uttarakhand Waqf Board, Shadab Shams. Shams stated that, currently, 117 Madrasas are being run by the Waqf Board in Uttarakhand in four districts, namely Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital. Shams stated that, in all these Madrasas, the children will be imparted modern education.
So far, 4 Madrasas have already been modernised and the children are being provided modern education and infrastructure. In the coming days, children studying in all the 117 madrassas will be seen reading with a laptop in one hand and the Quran in the other, as had been desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Uttarakhand Waqf Board has also decided to name these modern madrassas after former President, the late APJ Abdul Kalam. Shams added that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given his approval for these improvements.
Shams claimed that the children from these madrasas will get connected with the nationalist ideology and the idea of serving Mother India. The modern madrassas will start operating from the upcoming academic session. For this, the registration process will also start from the month of January. Apart from this, the rooms and education of madrassas will also be modern. The education system of Madrasas will be much better in the coming times, he claimed.
