DEHRADUN, 10 Feb: Amit Gupta has been awarded a PhD by Graphic Era Hill University for developing techniques that detect and classify credit card frauds.
Gupta, a faculty member of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, conducted his research on “An Efficient Artificial Intelligence Model for Detection and Classification of Credit Card Frauds.” He completed his research under the guidance of MC Lohani, Deputy Director of Graphic Era Hill University, Bhimtal Campus, and Mahesh Manchanda, a faculty member of the Computer Science Engineering Department at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun campus.
By meticulously studying more than 80,000 transactions conducted through various credit cards, Amit Gupta has developed a technology through which banks can immediately detect whether credit card transactions are fraudulent or non-fraudulent. This technology can be used after the transaction has been completed, but it will assist banks in quickly identifying credit card fraud. Amit‘s Hybrid Convolutional Neural Network technology will also help banks detect fraud and enhance the financial security of users.
Zubair Khan from Taibah University, Saudi Arabia, served as the external expert for the research.
During the thesis presentation, R. Gauri, Pro Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University, along with Neeraj Dhiman,  Satvik Vats, Vikrant Sharma, Prateek Srivastava, and Raj Kishore Bisht were present.
