BJP Election Steering Committee sends name of 55 contenders for 5 seats for LS polls to High Command

Dehradun, 27 Feb: BJP’s State Election Steering Committee today sent the names of 55 contenders for all the 5 Lok Sabha seats from the state to the central leadership. State President Mahendra Bhatt informed that the meeting held today witnessed participation of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and State in charge Dushyant Gautam along with State Election Committee members, former state president and other senior officials in the Election Steering Committee. The names of the candidates were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, reports of party observers sent regarding potential candidates to all Lok Sabha seats were presented. The names to be sent to the central leadership were finalised after considering the opinion of local workers, social balance and strategic point of view. He said that the panel of minimum of 5 names for each Lok Sabha seat was finalised. A total of 55 names on all five seats of the state (averaging 11 names per seat) will be sent to the central leadership of the party. Bhatt expressed hope that soon the Central Parliamentary Board of the party will consider these names and take a final call in this respect.
In the meeting, Union Minister of State Ajay Bhatt, National Co-Treasurer Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, National Media In-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, Former CMs Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tirath Singh Rawat, MP Maharani Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, Ajay Tamta, Kalpana Saini, State Cabinet Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Satpal Maharaj, State General Secretary Organisation Ajaey Kumar, State Vice President Kuldeep Kumar, State General Secretaries y Aditya Kothari, Khilendra Chaudhary and Rajendra Bisht, former State Presidents  Bishan Singh.
Chufal Banshidhar Bhagat, Madan Kaushik, party’s National Front officer Deepti Rawat, Suresh Bhatt, Mahila Morcha President Asha Nautiyal and other steering committee members were present.
