Dehradun, 11 Dec: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran, in a brief meeting today, submitted a representation to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC). In his representation, Jugran reminded the Chief Minister about the recently postponed PCS Main Examination and said that postponing the exam just one day before the scheduled date has negatively affected the morale of the candidates. He added that the candidates from rural and mountainous regions suffered the most, and the Commission is responsible for this.
Jugran requested that the Commission urgently needs a permanent Chairman, as an acting Chairman has been handling the responsibilities for the past two years, which is affecting the functioning of the Commission. Jugran further stated that it is necessary for the government to review not only the Commission’s functioning but also its administrative practices.
He pointed out that the Commission members are not present in the office on all working days and attend only during meetings. Despite residential facilities being available for members within the Commission premises, they frequently travel from places such as Dehradun to the Commission office located in Haridwar.
The Chief Minister assured Ravindra Jugran of necessary action on the matter.
