BJP won 20 out of 36 seats in MCD polls where U’khand leaders were in charge: Bhatt

Dehradun, Dec 7: The BJP has expressed happiness over the victory in 20 out of 36 seats in the MCD polls where party leaders from Uttarakhand had been assigned responsibility for the campaign.

BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt pointed out that 6 out of 9 candidates of Uttarakhand origin had won the MCD polls in Delhi. Bhatt claimed that this victory was the result of the support from the migrants due to the work done by CM Dhami in Uttarakhand under the guidance of PM Modi and the hard work of all the workers, including the CM, who went on the election campaign from the state.

Talking to reporters at the party’s state headquarters, Mahendra Bhatt, while answering questions on the MCD elections, claimed that the polls results showed the voters voted as per the popularity of the candidates. He also claimed that even the BJP candidate has a chance to be elected Mayor. He reminded that Uttarakhand BJP had been given the responsibility of campaigning in a total of 36 constituencies for the Delhi elections, mainly in those where there are migrants from Uttarakhand, out of which the party had been able to win 20 seats. Expressing satisfaction over the party’s performance in these areas, he expressed happiness at the victory of 6 out of 9 Pahari candidates of BJP.

Bhatt said the work of the Uttarakhand government under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami in the state and the hard work of the workers who migrated from the state including the Chief Minister himself had contributed a lot in the good performance on these seats. He also congratulated AAP for winning a majority in MCD polls and expressed the hope that BJP would perform better in the future.
