Blood Donation Camp held at IHM



DEHRADUN, 22 Jan: A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised at IHM Dehradun, today, in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Blood Cell, NCD, NHM and SBTC with the slogan, ‘Give the Gift of Life-Donate Blood’. Dr Jagdeep Khanna, Principal, IHM, appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian Red Cross Society and extended support from the Institute for the cause. He said the institution believed in sensitising students to social causes and the need for blood donation drives. It was a good way to solve the problem of blood shortage in India. The drive saw 103 students, faculty and staff members coming together to donate blood. Donors were provided juice, biscuits and refreshments. The samples were carefully sealed and transported to the Blood Bank, Doon Hospital. This camp helped students become aware about their social responsibilities and they participated enthusiastically. Present on the occasion were Dr MS Ansari, General Secretary, Red Cross, Parvati Pandey, IEC Coordinator, NHM, Rupali Sharma, Red Cross, Ishrat Habib, Member, Red Cross, Dr Neha Batra Dandona, Associate Professor, Blood Bank, Doon Hospital, Anita Saklani, Counsellor, Doon Hospital, and a team of Universal Screening of Common NCDs, Uttarakhand, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare.
