Dehradun, 7 May: A book, “Women and Higher Education: A Socio-Economic Standpoint and Future Perspective”, as well as the College Magazine ‘Udita (2009-2019)’ were released at an event held at MKP PG College, here, today. The Chief Guest on the occasion was District Magistrate SA Murugesan, Authorised Controller of MKP PG College.
The event was organised by the MKP Teachers’ Association and the Editorial Board of Udita. A Primary Health Centre was also inaugurated by Dr KK Tamta, CMS, Doon Government Medical College. Dr Neha Mahajan and Dr Nitin Sharma have been appointed to visit the college for an hour, each, twice a week for primary checkups and medical consultation for the girl students.
DM Murugesan, in his keynote address, inspired the students to work hard and maintain sharp focus.
Being the Authorised Controller of the College, he identified progress vis-a-vis the challanges. He said the students coming from hill background ought to be ready for more challenging situations to achieve more.
The programme was attended by Dr Sudha Pandey, ex-Vice Chancellor, Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, and BS Budhiyal, ADM, Finance, and Incharge, MKP PG College, as Special Guests.
