Dehradun, 19 Nov:  The Literary Table (TLT), under Arogya Wellbeing Trust was recently launched. This initiative began with the enthusiasm and support of five booklovers of Doon. Nita Roy, Bijoya Sawian, Usha Guha, Shalini Dhanda and Aloka Niyogi.
The session began with a welcome address by one of the TLT members and host of the afternoon Niyogi and in the end there was a vote of thanks by Sawian.
TLT is a platform for authors, writers, journalists, social entrepreneurs who would be sharing their various life journeys,  their interesting life experiences, their books etc on this platform. As they say every book churns out from a life experience. Bijoya and Aloka said, the idea of this event where readers can interact with the authors at an intimate level in a small gathering was the main purpose of starting this initiative. It definitely will lend the air a very personal touch.
Their first event kick started with two Authors, Aloke B Lal and Maanas Lal. Aloke Lal has two books under his belt, The Barabanki Narcos and the Murder in the bylanes- Life and death in an undivided city. The later book debuts Maanas Lal along with Aloke Lal.
The Barabanki Narcos was about busting India’s Notorious drug peddlers net and Murder in the bylanes – Life and death in a divided city, is a riveting cop thriller. It is a hard-hitting and gripping account of life in Kanpur in the wake of the Babri Masjid demolition. It holds up a mirror to society. Brings out the sacrifices that an honest police officer has to make in the line of duty.

Both the books are about IPS officer, the Author himself, during his days in uniform. Aloke Lal shared with the TLT members his real-life experiences which made him pen down these books. Barabanki Narcos is soon to be made into a web series.
