The social media is rife with urgings to boycott all American origin produce of common use and services, post the imposition of unfair tariff by US President Donald Trump on Bharat, mainly to defy his bullying stance.
I would call such a reaction by our social media and non-thinking public as an immature display of their Bhartiyata. This frenzy is not going to hurt America as much as us the Bharatiye. Think of it this way. The drastic fall in the consumption of such American produce and services being done in Bharat for our domestic as well for export may eventually shutdown their production/function here and shift elsewhere rendering our own people jobless. Unemployment is a great social problem that our governments try so hard to reduce. For our health reasons avoiding some of those junk food things may be beneficial for us, but we cannot and ought not to impose on an international habit. We are not exporting it back to USA only, but more than that to many other American influenced nations of the world. It is also a tourism fad which if denied may affect our own tourism industry adversely.
We are manufacturing a lot many defence weapons with foreign collaboration and some indigenously. We are exporting these too to enhance our financial prowess. Then why not use manufacturing all other American produce with their knowhow and export them too to earn ‘moolah’? Let these also be the weapons that can be used to bring MAGA to its proper level. Therefore, let the wise among us make their own choice and guide the other sheep to our nation’s benefit. Not revenge but subterfuge is the need of the hour.
