Dehradun, 4 Aug: A Memorial Service paying homage to the late Rani Chandra Raj Laxmi Rana (Founder-Permanent Member and ex-President) was organised at Cambrian Hall today in the School Auditorium. The Memorial Service was attended by members of the family, Members of the Board of Trustees, friends and relatives, staff and students of Classes VIII to XII.
Lighting of the ceremonial lamp was followed by floral tributes to the late President by the Members of the family, members of the Board of Trustees, friends and relatives, senior teachers, school head boy and head girl.
Principal Dr SC Biala paid rich tribute to the late President. In his address, he recalled that Col Shashi left for his heavenly abode in 1988. Inspite of the most difficult times, she never surrendered but looked after the school single-handedly for 30 long years with a lot of grit, dedication, commitment and missionary zeal. He added that Rani Sahiba took keen interest in all the activities of the school, which was her extended family. Her long and devoted services to the school for the years gone by would be remembered with deep gratitude, admiration and reverence.
Two minutes’ silence was also observed in her memory.
The School Choir sang the bhajan, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. A Pandit, Maulvi, Priest and Granthi read scriptures from the holy books. Thereafter, the School Choir rendered the hymn, ‘Abide With Me’.
It was a solemn occasion which concluded with the sounding of the Last Post by the Buglers.
