Chief Coach of Indian Athletics Team meets CM

DEHRADUN, 17 Jan: Chief Coach of the Indian Athletics Team and Ukraine national Anatoliy Fatyeyev met Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at the latter’s official residence, here, on Thursday. Coach Fatyeyev is training 17 trainers and 80 athletes from Uttarakhand at the Maharana Pratap Sports College, here, from 14 to 19 January.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said there was no dearth of talent among the sportspersons of Uttarakhand. All the players were performing well. He expressed the hope that, by acquiring training from an experienced coach, Uttarakhand along with India’s performance in athletics would improve.
Fatyeyev said that earlier, in 2002 also, during the Busan Asian Games, he had imparted training to Indian athletes. He said the instructors here were very good and well trained. He was feeling good working with them.
Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar, Secretary, Sports, Dr Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh, former Athletics Coach Gurphool Singh, Director, Sports, Pratap Singh Shah and Navin Kar were also present on the occasion.
