Chief Minister releases Master Plan booklet of Public Works Department

Dehradun, 17 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday released the Master Plan booklet related to the works for the next 5 years (2026-2031) prepared by the Public Works Department at the Secretariat.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the release of the Master Plan booklet by the Public Works Department, based on the vision for the next five years, is a commendable initiative. This booklet is a path to developing the state’s infrastructure and ensuring a strong and secure future. He said that this Master Plan booklet will play an important role in realising the state’s development potential and fulfilling the commitments of a developed India 2047.

The Chief Minister stated that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, infrastructure work in the state has progressed rapidly. In recent years, extensive road construction has taken place in the state. He added that the state government is prioritising innovation in infrastructure development. Development projects are being carried forward keeping future needs in mind. The Chief Minister stated that it is our resolve to move the state forward with set goals and achieve development with vision.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is emerging as a tourism hub and ‘we are advancing development projects to meet the needs of tourists’. Infrastructure in the state is being reoriented through technology and innovation. He said this booklet will certainly set a vision for the state’s progress.

Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the Public Works Department is moving forward with a clear vision. “We are continuously working on connectivity and infrastructure development in the state. Development plans are also being prepared keeping in mind future needs,” he said, adding that connectivity is crucial for development, and continuous work is being done on this.

Secretary, Public Works Department, Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey stated that the vision for more than 100 projects has been included in the Master Plan booklet. He added that revisions will be made to the booklet as needed. He explained that the booklet outlines the department’s vision on various priorities, including road connectivity, economic hub connectivity, bridge development and safety, road safety and slope protection, technology, financial management, and policy.

Present during the event were Vice Chairman of the Infrastructure Monitoring Council, Vishwas Dabur, Chief Engineer  Rajesh Chandra Sharma, Chief Engineer Ranjit Rawat, Rajendra Sayana, Superintending Engineer Manoj Bisht, Arun Pandey, Executive Engineer BN Dwivedi, Rajesh Kumar, Neeraj Tripathi, and others.
