Dehradun, 27 Apr: Chairman of the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, Kailash Gahtodi has been keeping ill for several months now. In this regard, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today called on him at his official residence at Yamuna Colony here today and enquired about his health. Seeking updates regarding the health of Gahtodi, the Chief Minister wished for his speedy recovery. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also assured all possible help to his family members towards the treatment of Gahtodi.
It may be recalled that Gahtodi was elected from Champawat assembly constituency for the second consecutive time during the 2022 Assembly elections. However, he had soon after resigned as MLA to enable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to contest election from there in order to continue as Chief Minister since Dhami had lost from his traditional seat of Khatima. In case, some one other than an MLA (or MLC wherever applicable) is appointed as a minister or chief minister in a state, or any other person other than PM is appointed a minister or PM at the Centre, he has to contest and win the assembly or general election within a period of 6 months failing which he will have to resign.
Gahtodi soon after his resignation was appointed as Chairman of Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation. However, for the past few months, he has not been keeping well.
