Dehradun, 4 Apr: In a significant move towards infrastructure enhancement and disaster management, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has granted approval to multiple development projects across Uttarakhand.
Among the key projects for which the approval has been granted is the establishment of a smart control room and CCTV surveillance system in Dhuligad for crowd and disaster management during the Purnagiri Fair in Tanakpur, Champawat.
In addition, the CM has also approved construction of a multi-purpose administrative building in Selagad for the fair, along with the Ladhigad (Purnagiri) and Thuligad/Babligad pumping drinking water schemes in the Purnagiri area, has been sanctioned.
The CM also granted approval to a survey in collaboration with the Forest Department for channelisation and flood protection in the Kiroda drain, spanning approximately 3 km from Kiroda bridge to the causeway on Purnagiri road. To mitigate flood risks, a protective wall is proposed to be constructed in Huddi river, aimed at safeguarding Chheenigoth village in Purnagiri, Tanakpur.
Additionally, infrastructure improvements have been approved for Kashipur, including road widening from KVR Hospital to Dhanori and Business Inn Hotel to Parmanandpur link road. Provisions have been made for the construction of dividers and streetlights to enhance safety and traffic flow. A corporation office building, residential complex, and shopping complex will also be constructed in the Municipal Corporation premises under the PPP model.
Development of essential infrastructure such as roads, drains, electricity, and parks in 17 newly formed wards of Municipal Corporation Kashipur has been granted approval. Plans also include the construction of a cowshed on Urban Development Department land in Ward No 5, an integrated administrative building at Toda Tiraha, and the modernisation of Government Girls Inter College, which will be developed into a state-level model girls’ intermediate school.
