Dehradun, 7 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed all District Magistrates to focus on better delivery of public services and take steps to ensure pothole free roads, drinking water supply, and effective forest fire management. The instructions were issued during a virtual meeting chaired by Dhami with District Magistrates from the Chief Minister’s residence here today.

The CM emphasised the need for regular administrative drives against encroachment, routine food sampling, and swift completion of river dredging and drains cleaning before the monsoon season. To address public grievances, he instructed the DMs to regularly organise Janata Darbars, Tehsil Diwas, and BDC meetings, ensuring timely resolutions of public grievances. He also stressed that response time for forest fire control must be minimised to prevent large-scale damage to the forests and to the flora and fauna.

The CM also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra with the district magistrates concerned and stressed on the importance of fully active control rooms in all districts along the pilgrimage route. He directed them to ensure a well-coordinated traffic plan, basic amenities for devotees, and routine inspections of routes to ensure smooth travel. He made it clear that all the roads in the districts must be pothole-free within 15 days and directed that the DMs personally oversee the progress in this regard.

Dhami also instructed immediate transfer of personnel who have remained in the same position for more than three years. Given the summer season, he directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply, including adequate arrangements of water tankers where needed, and advance planning for stable power supply. Additionally, he emphasised widespread awareness of welfare schemes, ensuring that eligible citizens receive the benefits of state and central government initiatives.

The meeting was attended virtually by senior officials, including newly promoted Additional Chief Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, ADG Police AP Anshuman, Vice Chairman, MDDA, Banshidhar Tiwari and Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, besides all the District Magistrates.
