RAMNAGAR, 22 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated virtually in the inauguration of the Jim Corbett Marriott Resort in Ramnagar from Dehradun on Saturday. Extending his best wishes to the Marriott group, Dhami emphasised the significance of Uttarakhand’s natural beauty and biodiversity, which attract wildlife and nature enthusiasts from across the globe. He expressed hope that the new resort would enhance tourism opportunities in the region while creating local employment.

Dhami highlighted the state government’s efforts to position Uttarakhand as a global tourism destination. Under the new tourism policy, the state has successfully attracted investments from major hotel groups and resorts. He noted that pilgrimage and tourism form the backbone of Uttarakhand’s economy, generating direct and indirect employment and business opportunities. The Chief Minister claimed that the government is actively developing sectors such as religious, adventure, eco-tourism, wellness tourism, agro-tourism, and film tourism. Religious sites in Kumaon are being developed under the Manaskhand Corridor Scheme, similar to Kedarkhand. He reminded that the Winter Yatra, launched this year, has gained momentum with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Harsil-Mukhwa.

The Chief Minister also dwelt upon the initiatives to promote adventure tourism, including trekking, river rafting, paragliding, skiing, and mountaineering. He mentioned the introduction of a single-window clearance system to facilitate film shooting in the state. Efforts are underway to place destinations like Auli, Chaukori, Munsyari, Ramnagar, Mussoorie, and Nainital on the global tourism map.

The event in Ramnagar was attended by MLA Diwan Singh Bisht, Mayor Deepak Bali, Vinay Jindal, Rekha Jindal, Vikas Jindal, Arun Kumar, Banke Goenka, and others.
