Mussoorie, 18 Feb: The Principal, Rector, teachers and students of CST Mussoorie paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the CRPF convoy that took place on 14 February. Two minutes of silence was observed during the assembly for the peace of the departed souls. A silent candle march was also organised from the school entrance gate to Buddha Monastery.
Addressing the assembly, Principal SP Singh said, “We share the grief of the family members of CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.” He also impressed upon every individual that “we are leading a happy and safe life because of the sacrifices of our soldiers”. He added that this was an irreparable loss and the entire nation was mourning. He tried to impress upon all to inculcate a spirit of nationalism and sense of patriotism.
The Chief Coordinator of the school, Asit Katyayan, also condemned the barbaric, tragic and heinous crime against the Armed Forces and termed the assault was on humanity. He cited various examples of valour and martyrdom of the brave soldiers to preserve the integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
A student of class XI, Md Naved, sang a sensitive patriotic song in memory of the slain CRPF soldiers. All teachers and staff members participated in the programme whole-heartedly with the spirit to express the solidarity with the nation. The programme was convened by SC Rauto with the help of Rector Thakchoe Tsering, Pradeep Kumar, ASS Kanderi, Jagmohan Lakheda and student volunteers.
