DEHRADUN, 23 Apr: Doordarshan Uttarakhand (DD Uttarakhand) will telecast educational lessons regularly from 24 April for the benefit of students in view of the current lockdown forced by the Corona pandemic. This was disclosed by Programme Head of DD Uttarakhand, Subhash Thaledi, here, today.
He stated that an MoU was signed today for these educational broadcasts between DD Uttarakhand, Dehradun, and the Department of School Education, Government of Uttarakhand. It was agreed in the MoU that Doordarshan Uttarakhand would telecast three educational lessons of half an hour duration, each, for classes 9, 10 and 11 from 24 April from 1 to 2.30 p.m. everyday under its “Gyanandeep” series for classes 9, 10 and 11.
The agreement was signed by Additional Project Director, Integrated Education, School Education Department, Mukul Sati and Programme Director Narendra Rawat on behalf of Doordarshan Uttarakhand.
The decision to telecast classroom lectures was taken in view of the fact that schools and colleges across the country and across the state are presently closed due to the Corona pandemic lockdown. The telecast would be carried out to ensure that the studies of students belonging to classes 9, 10 and 11 are not unduly affected due to the lockdown. Thaledi added that important lessons related to subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English would be broadcast during this period.
He appealed to the students of 9th, 10th and 12th to take maximum advantage of this and brush up their knowledge. He also urged parents to make their children attend these classes and derive maximum advantage of this programme. He also stated that the students could also access the lectures every day on the official YouTube channel of DD Uttarakhand. All these episodes would be uploaded on YouTube each day.
