Dehradun 22 April: The BJP has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on behalf of the party workers and the people of the state for the decision to end the restriction on the predetermined number of pilgrims for the Char Dham Yatra.
State Party President Mahendra Bhatt in a statement issued today said that the party was already in favour of removing the upper limit on the number of pilgrims allowed at the Char Dham shrines, but the government has announced lifting of the cap only after fully ensuring the arrangements for successful and safe travel shows the working style of the popular and responsible government.
State President Bhatt said that the Dhami government is also serious about the concern being expressed by local businessmen, priests and other stakeholders in respect of  restricting the number of Char Dham pilgrims. Along with this, in view of the adverse geographical and uncertain natural calamities and circumstances, it is also very important for any government to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the passengers. This is the reason why, as a responsible government, the BJP government has taken this decision according to the public’s aspiration only after verifying and cross-checking the administrative and human preparations in all the four holy places.
Targeting the opposition leaders, Bhatt said that they were irresponsibly inciting the issue for immediate political gains only, but the decision like removal of the number limit was also taken by the CM after due considerations, and it has been taken in contemplation and with foresight. This is a highly commendable step.
