Dehradun, 1 Aug: A week-long Student Induction Programme, “Deeksharambh 2024”, started at Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University, here, today.
The inaugural programme began with the Commendations of the Chief Guest, Vice President Ankita Joshi, along with the Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Controller of Examinations KB Pokhriyal, Guest of Honour Sudha Kukreti, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Dehradun, guest speaker Himanshu Joshi, Senior Manager- Manufacturing, INTAS Pharmaceutical Ltd, and Sahajram Uniyal, Area Manager, Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The ceremony began with, lamp lighting and singing of Saraswati Vandana and the University ‘Kulgeet’.
Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi encouraged the newcomers to utilise the opportunity given through the university resources to develop skills and knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna enlightened the students by sharing the importance of education and research. Controller of Examinations KB Pokhriyal explained to the students the importance of examinations and how they should prepare for the future.
Dean UIPS, Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola welcomed the students and emphasised the importance and role of pharmacists worldwide. He spoke about importance of time management to gain desired success in life.
Sudha Kukreti, Chief Pharmacy Officer, provided career guidance and also briefed them about the role of pharmacists in the healthcare system.
Himanshu Joshi, Sahajram Uniyal, briefed the students on career management.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by HoD Dr Nidhi Gairola and Dr Nidhi Nainwal, Associate Professor, UIPS. The event was coordinated by Taru Saklani and Mansi Butola, Assistant Professor, UIPS.
