Dhad holds Harela celebrations at SGRR Public School



Dehradun, 31 Jul: The social organisation, ‘Dhad’, held Harela celebrations at Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Bombay Bagh, here, today.
Secretary Tanmay Mamgain briefed those present about Harela and Dhad. A Harela Club was also formed in the school on the occasion. Ayush Kandwal has been appointed Club President, Abhinav Kotnala and Priyanka Negi, Vice Presidents, Anurag, Secretary, and Nishita Dhiman and Aparna, Jt Secretaries. Around fifty students became members of the club.
The club will take care of the saplings planted in the school and hold a discussion on the environment every three months. They will also work on raising consciousness on environmental issues.
Ganesh Uniyal of Dhad pointed out that excessive exploitation of nature led to natural disasters. Planting trees would restore the balance of nature.
Principal Shobha Bohra explained the significance of Harela to the students. The students also took a pledge to care for the environment. At the end of the programme, flowering trees and plants were planted.
Present on the occasion were Anuj Mittal, Suresh Uniyal, Prachi Juyal, Sanjay Kukreti, Sameeksha Javeri, Avantika Negi, Sonali Mamgain, Beena Sharma, Bijendra Bhatt, Amit Gupta, Maheshwari Bhatt, Kalpana Bahuguna and Saket Rawat.
