Dehradun, 31 Jul: The Rotary Club, Dehradun, celebrated the festival of ‘Harela’ at Bal Bhawan, here. Around 25 members of the club planted more than forty fruit trees. These included Mango, Neem, Jawa plum, Guava, Indian gooseberry and other varieties of trees. The members had purposely selected Bal Bhawan for this event so that the young children could understand the need and value of planting trees. They also discussed the need for planting more trees in Dehradun.
It was decided that the club would organise many such events in the near future to maintain the greenery and ecological balance. Anup Kaul, Dr S Farooq, Nagma Farooq, Joginder Singh, Dr Arun Kumar, Asha Kumar and Rajeev Berry were also present on the occasion, according to Dr AK Srivastava.
