Dehradun, 24 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today paid rich tribute to Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, the hero of the Peshawar episode, on his birth anniversary. In a message released on the eve of the birth anniversary of Garhwali, Dhami highlighted the legendary figure’s unparalleled patriotism, courage and moral fortitude in refusing to fire upon unarmed protesters demanding the country’s independence. He observed that the Peshawar episode stands as a significant milestone in India’s freedom struggle which served as a landmark that provided a new direction and revolutionary foundation to the independence movement.
