Champawat, 15 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led a GST awareness rally through the main market of Champawat district headquarters today and interacted directly with traders and citizens to disseminate information regarding the recently revised GST slabs announced by the Central Government. During the rally, he held a free interaction with the shopkeepers and the general public and urged them to understand and communicate the benefits of the reduced GST rates to ensure that consumers receive the full advantage.
On this occasion, the CM visited several local establishments, including Tiwari Sweets, Chaudhary Vastra Bhandar owned by Mayukh Chaudhary, and Prakash Tiwari’s General Store near the bus station. He also discussed the implications of the revised GST slabs with the traders and urged them to proactively inform customers about the changes. He reminded that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has reduced GST rates on various essential goods and services to provide relief to the common person, describing the initiative as ‘Next Generation GST’. He expressed confidence that the revised slabs would result in direct economic benefit for the general public.
During the rally, Dhami also made a strong appeal for the promotion of Swadeshi products. Addressing the traders and the locals, he stressed that prioritising indigenous goods is essential for strengthening both the people and the economy of India. He encouraged the shopkeepers to stock and promote local products and urged the public to adopt Swadeshi alternatives in their daily lives. He reiterated that supporting local products is not only crucial for economic empowerment but also integral to achieving the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ or Self-Reliant India.
