DEHRADUN, 16 Feb: Cabinet Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat today held a meeting with the officials of PWD, PMGSY and NHAI regarding development projects in Srinagar Assembly constituency. The meeting was held at Vidhan Sabha building here today. During the meeting, Rawat directed the officials concerned to ensure that the renovation, coal tar laying and repair works of various motorways under Srinagar assembly constituency be completed soon. He directed that motor bridges lying incomplete for years in the area be completed at the earliest to restore traffic facilities in the areas concerned within the constituency. Instructions were also given to the officers to make the roads pothole free and to construct drains in the populated areas. During the review meeting, the minister reviewed the progress in respect of a large number of road projects in Srinagar Assembly constituency.
In the meeting, the officials informed that in the current financial year, approval has been received for the asphalting of 50 kilometres of motorways under the Srinagar assembly constituency, under which proposals for a dozen motorways have been prepared and sent for the approval of the head of the department. The process of asphalting (laying coal tar) works will be started soon. In the meeting, Principal Secretary, PWD RK Sudhanshu said that under the Srinagar Vidhansabha constituency, a total of 236 roads were sanctioned by the government, out of which the work on 69 roads has been completed while the construction work of 77 is still in progress. The construction work on remaining 90 roads is progressing and was facing issues of forest land, dispute claims by the villagers, survey, alignment and tender process and efforts are being made to resolve the issues.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary Public Works Department RK Sudhanshu, Chief Executive Officer PMGSY Udayraj Singh, Chief Engineer PWD Ayaz Ahmed, Chief Engineer PWD DK Yadav, Chief Engineer PWD Pauri Dayanand, Chief Engineer PMGSY RP Singh, VD Joshi, Superintending Engineer PS Brijwal, Executive Engineer of all the three divisions RP Naithani, Vivek Prasad, KS Negi along with local public representatives Matwar Singh Rawat, Lakhpat Singh Bhandari, Amar Singh, Narendra Singh Bhandari etc were also present.
