Dehradun, 10 Jan: District Magistrate Savin Bansal has ordered strict action against those violating the conditions for road cutting permissions granted to them. Following numerous public complaints about the inconvenience and potential accidents caused by construction work being carried out at night without proper permission, Bansal has issued these instructions.
In this regard, the DM has also set up a Quick Response Team (QRT) to effectively monitor road cutting works. It has been alleged by the locals that, in many cases, permission for road cutting was granted to carry out work during nighttime but was being carried out during the daytime, causing widespread inconvenience and posing undue risk to the public. In all such cases, the DM has ordered filing of cases against the violators.
The District Magistrate has constituted a QRT team comprising SDM Kumkum Joshi, Gaurav Chatwal (on a rotational basis), Superintending Engineer (SE), PWD, Mukesh Parmar, SP Traffic Mukesh Thakur, and CO Traffic Police Anuj Kumar (on a rotational basis).
The District Magistrate has directed the QRT to conduct regular inspections of road-related works and ensure compliance with orders and conditions issued by the Project Coordination Committee. He also asserted that in cases of non-compliance, legal action be taken against the violators, and cases be registered under relevant sections.
