Dehradun, 11 Dec: A public hearing was organised at the Rishiparna Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Sonika, here, today. In all, 86 complaints were received during the public hearing, out of which most of the complaints were related to land issues and disputes. Apart from this, complaints were also received regarding Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, disputes, social welfare, PMGSY, non-issuance of income certificate, education department, MDDA, PMGSY, minor irrigation, electricity, etc. A complaint was also received related to Haridwar, regarding which DM Sonika called up the DM, Haridwar, over the telephone and referred the complaint to him to get it resolved.
At the public hearing, it was observed that the majority of the complaints were related to the land issues like encroachment, land grab and disputes. While hearing a complaint regarding land encroachment and illegal occupation in Danda Lakhund, the Tehsildar Sadar was instructed to conduct on-site inspection and submit the report to her at the earliest. In respect of a complaint that the owner’s name was not being registered in one case in Suddhowala, the DM instructed Tehsildar, Vikas Nagar, to inquire and submit a report to her today. She added that, if this case demands disposal at a higher level, then he must correspond with the authority concerned.
Some complaints were received also regarding the land mafia having closed the road and encroached on it in Thakurpur under Vikasnagar Tehsil and also other land related complaints from Jhajhra. Sonika directed the Tehsildar to undertake proper action. There were also complaints of non-registration of sale deeds and non-demarcation of land in Sewla Kala. In this regard, also, she directed the officials concerned to promptly resolve the issues. One complainant told her that despite his house getting damaged in the heavy rains during the monsoon in Khadkamafi area in Rishikesh Tehsil, he had not been paid any compensation. The DM called up SDM Rishikesh to ensure that the complainant gets compensation early. In respect of a complaint regarding poor quality work done by Jal Sansthan in village Ashoi in Chakrata, instructions were given to the Chief Development Officer to conduct an investigation.
On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Jharna Kamthan, Additional Chief Municipal Officer Vir Singh Budiyal, SP, Crime, Mithilesh Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjay Jain, SDM Yukta Mishra, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Vidyadhar Kapri, Chief Horticulture Officer Dr Meenakshi Joshi, District Supply Officer KK Aggarwal, District Supply Officer Vidyadhar Kapri, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Arvind Pandey, Tehsildar Sadar and officials from MDDA, Irrigation and related departments were present.
