New Delhi 14 Sep: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today called on Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari here today. During the meeting, Minister Ganesh Joshi also invited Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to come to Uttarakhand and lay the foundation stone of a 3 km long tunnel for Mussoorie, to be built at a cost of about Rs 800 crores. Joshi also urged the Union Minister to declare the Dehradun-Kimari motorway as a National Highway.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari agreed to lay the foundation stone of the tunnel going to be built in Mussoorie in the first week of January.
Significantly, the work of the tunnel has been taken over by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and its DPR has also been finalised. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari directed the officials to put on his itinerary that in the first week of January, he would reach Dehradun lay the foundation stone of the tunnel and also directed them to ensure that preparations for this are completed soon.
Apart from this, at the request of Ganesh Joshi, Gadkari also directed the officials to declare the Dehradun-Kimari motorway as a national highway, to bring the work of Dehradun-Kimari motorway under the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana. Ganesh Joshi expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for agreeing to both his requests.
