Dr Dhan Singh Rawat meets Scouts & Guides Director

New Delhi/Dehradun, 19 Dec: During his visit to New Delhi, the Education Minister, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, visited the National Headquarters of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. He discussed various activities and programmes with the organisation’s Director, Dr Rajkumar Kaushik, and proposed organising a meeting of Chief Commissioners from all states across the country in Haridwar, a proposal accepted by the Director.

Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, the Regional President of Bharat Scout and Guides and Minister of School Education, informed the media that he gathered information about the organisation’s activities from top officials and engaged in detailed discussions on various issues. He met Dr Rajkumar Kaushik for discussions on important matters. The date on the meeting of Chief Commissioners would be confirmed soon.

During this visit, Dr Rawat strengthened Uttarakhand’s commitment to hosting the Scouts Jamboree in 2025. He emphasised that this would enhance the participation of students from government schools in Uttarakhand in international programmes. Dr Rawat highlighted the expansion of Scouts and Guides units from Sanskrit schools to mainstream educational institutions, medical colleges, and madrasas, to achieve the goal of registering one lakh students as Scouts and Guides, including Rovers and Rangers, by 2025. Additionally, an annual plan is being formulated for all Scouts and Guides activities in the state.

Health Minister meets Medical Evaluation & Rating Board Chairman

Dehradun, 19 Dec: During his visit to New Delhi, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, the Minister of Medical Health and Medical Education in the state, met Dr BN Gangadhar, the Chairman of the Medical Evaluation and Rating Board. Dr Rawat briefed the chairman about the state’s health facilities and future plans. He emphasised the government’s focus on the health sector in the state, ensuring the availability of medical professionals, paramedical staff, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment in all government medical units. Due to these efforts, Uttarakhand received the GRD Tata Memorial Award for outstanding performance in the health sector nationwide.
