DEHRADUN, 19 Jun: A meeting of Uttarakhand State Veterinary Council was held today in Dehradun in which Dr Kailash Uniyal was unanimously elected as the President of the Council. It may be recalled that Dr Kailash Uniyal is a reputed veterinarian who has made a significant contribution in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary science. Earlier, Dr K ailash was elected as the President of Uttarakhand State Veterinary Ser vice Association for 18 years. Dr Uniyal is also a committed animal lover and had gone out of the way to ensure government help to various organisations to feed stray animals during the Covid lockdown.
As a government veterinarian, he contributed many significant things ensuring better working conditions for veterinarians in the government service besides ensuring wider and adequate availability of veterinary facilities and medicines in government veterinary clinics and hospitals.
Speaking on the occasion today after being elected unanimously as Council President, Dr Uniyal stated that continuous improvement and innovation are necessary for technical and educational progress in the field of veterinary services. Under his leadership, the council is expected to further raise the level of veterinary services in the state and provide more opportunities and resources to veterinarians.
The meeting of the Council was also attended by Dir ector, Animal Husbandry Department Dr Neeraj Singhal, Dean of Veterinar y Science College Pantnagar Dr SP Singh, Registrar of Uttarakhand State Veterinar y Council Dr Ramesh Singh Nitwal, President of Uttarakhand Veterinar y Ser vice Association, Dr Narayan Singh Negi and Uttarakhand State Veterinar y Council members Dr Namit Bijalwan, Dr Manoj Rana, Dr Ravindra Kumar, Dr Abhishek Nautiyal, Dr Ganesh Maindoliya.
All the members present in the meeting congratulated Dr Kailash Uniyal on being elected President and wished him success in his tenure. Everyone expressed confidence that under his leadership the Council will set new standards for the development of veterinary services in the state.
