Dehradun, 5 Mar: All the medical and nursing colleges of the state will be connected with the ‘e-granthalaya’. Instructions have been given to the departmental officers in this regard. Hundred percent students studying in medical educational institutions will be registered with this e-library so that they can read books, research papers and journals available in medical educational institutions across the country.
Under the provisions of NEP-2020, e-library has been made mandatory in all educational institutions of Uttarakhand.
The State’s Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting of the Medical Education Department at his official residence in Yamuna Colony, here, today. Dr Rawat said that on the lines of the Higher Education Department, private and government medical colleges and nursing colleges across the state will soon be linked with the e-library, for which instructions have been given to the departmental officers.
Dr Rawat said that all medical and nursing colleges will also be able to connect with the National Digital Library through e-Granthalaya. For this, NIC will soon prepare a separate portal in which medical and nursing colleges will have to register themselves. After this, registration of medical students will be done. Dr Rawat said that more than 21 lakh books are available.
