Dehradun, 10 Jul: Shaheed Samrasta Mission founder Mohan Narayan called on Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.

Director, Sainik Welfare, Brigadier Amrit Lal (Retd) and Colonel Sumit Sood were also present during this meeting. Shaheed Samrasta Mission has been working to uplift the dependants of martyrs and empower them economically since 2007. Apart from this, the work of the organisation is to help the needy martyrs’ families in building houses, to provide state assistance to Veer Naris, and to help them in challenges related to education and health. Along with this, the organisation builds Rashtra Shakti Sthals in which a gate and statue are installed in the name of the martyr.

The organisation is working in 10 states. Founder Mohan Narayan told the Governor that Uttarakhand is a military oriented state and the soldiers here have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the country. He revealed that the Mission is going to work in Uttarakhand to provide all possible help to the families of martyrs.

The Governor said that as the patron of the Mission, he has seen the work of the organisation closely. Almost every family in Uttarakhand is serving the country. Uttarakhand is a military dominated state and more than 16 hundred soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice for the country. He said that the work being done by the organisation in Uttarakhand is commendable. The Governor asserted that it is everybody’s responsibility to take care of the families of the martyrs. Apart from government assistance, it is important for social movements and such organisations to come forward.
