Final publication of electoral rolls for Assembly polls by 15 Jan, 2021

Dehradun, 17 Nov: Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakahnd Soujanya, today, informed media persons that publication of the integrated draft electoral roll has been scheduled for 16 November.
The period for filing claims and objections would be from 16 November to 15 December. Special Campaigns would be carried out for awareness of the voters on 28 and 29 November and, again, on 12 and 13 December, 2020.
Soujanya added that disposal of claims and objections would be completed by 5 January, 2021. Checking of health parameters and obtaining the Election Commission’s permission for final publication would be done by 14 January, 2021, along with updating of database and printing of supplements. The final publication of the electoral rolls would be done on 15 January, 2021.
She also said that, while by 7 February, 2020, the total registered voters in the state were 77,08,407, this number had increased to 77,38,447 by 16 November, 2020, also taking into account who had become eligible to vote by 1 January 2020. Those who would become eligible to exercise their franchise by next year could still get themselves enrolled, she said.
In Dehradun district, a total of 13,78,597 voters had been registered by 16 November and this was the district with maximum voters from among all 13 districts.
