Kalsi (Dehradun, 7 Apr: On the occasion of Ram Navami, the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Yamuna Krishna Dham in Haripur Kalsi, was conducted under the aegis of Lok Panchayat Yamuna Tirtha Samiti here yesterday. The event signified a collective resolution to construct the Dham and Ghat with local cooperation, paving the way for an expansion of religious tourism.
The construction of the Ghats has commenced in Haripur, a site renowned for its historical and religious significance. Plans are underway to establish various Dhams and Ashrams at this location, ensuring its gradual transformation into a thriving centre of spiritual and cultural activities. Senior member of Lok Panchayat, Syaana Jaipal Chauhan of Mohana Khat, stated that Yamuna Krishna Dham will be built with community support, while the Ghat construction is being undertaken by the government.
On this occasion, Joint Director in the Information Department, KS Chauhan dwelt upon Haripur’s rich historical past, underscoring its religious importance. He described the land as sacred due to the confluence of four rivers at Maa Yamuna and mentioned that an action plan is being formulated to further develop the site.
Yamuna Krishna Dham Committee President Gambhir Chauhan declared that, following the Bhoomi Pujan, the construction of the Dham would commence with the active participation of the local population, ensuring that Haripur regains its ancient glory through the revitalisation of the Yamuna river’s Ghat.
During the ceremony, Pandit Shivanand Uniyal noted that auspicious undertakings on the sacred occasion of Ram Navami will enhance Satguns, fostering goodwill and prosperity. He called upon the people to contribute selflessly towards the construction of the Dham, emphasising that the sanctity of the site would be realised only through collective effort for societal welfare.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior members of Lok Panchayat, including Chand Sharma, Bharat Chauhan, Ranveer Chauhan, Gajendra Joshi, and Secretary of Lok Panchayat Tirtha Samiti Satpal Chauhan. Others present included Anil Tomar, Kesar Negi, Dinesh Tomar, Gajendra Tomar, Khajan Chauhan, Pritam Singh, Chaman Negi, Jawahar Singh Rana, Balveer Rawat, Mukesh Sharma, Chanchal Chauhan, Sansar Singh Tomar, Kunwar Singh, Pratap Bisht, and Amit Chauhan.
With the ceremonial foundation now laid, the envisioned transformation of Yamuna Krishna Dham into a centre of devotion and pilgrimage is set to unfold, reclaiming Haripur’s spiritual grandeur for generations to come.
